Workshops for pupils and adults
The “museum workshop” is intended to make the library and the museum of the Benedictine foundation an experience for children and adults.
It presents interesting facts and othes also worth knowing about the themes connected with the Monastery and life therein. The topics are “monastery medicine”, “write like a monk” and “create a paper”.
The Admont museum workshop opens by prior appointment for pupils and adults (4 to 15 persons) – please book the package “museum workshop” the whole year around, Tel.: +43 (0)3613/23 12-601 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
„Monastery medicine“: In this workshop you learn everything about medicinal herb and their use. First you go for a walk through the herb garden – if the weather permits that. After that you produce an own ointment or a lip balm. It takes about 1 hour and 15 min. Group max. 20 persons.
„Write like a monk“: You learn to know how much work it takes to produce a book in the middle ages. It is a challenge to write in Gothic. You can be proud of the result The workshop takes about 2 hours, for max. 15 persons per group.
„Create a paper“: In this workshop every question about paper will be answered. Where was the paper invented? How did they produce paper in the past? And if you know all that you can go into your practical experience and create paper on your own. Please be creative! The workshop takes about 1 hour and 20 min and is for max. 20 persons.
