Secondary school
The Admont Monastery gymnasium offers 3 types of education:
GYMNASIUM with the emphasis on languages:
English from the 1st Class, Latin or Italian from the 3rd and French, Classical Greek or Latin from the 5th class. From the 6th class a further foreign language can be taken as an optional subject.
REALGYMNASIUM with the emphasis on science:
Computer-based geometry and scientific exercises are offered in the 3rd and 4th classes. A second language (French or Latin) and scientific laboratory work and descriptive geometry are added in the Upper School.
MUSIC REALGYMANSIUM with the emphasis on music:
Additional music lessons are added in this branch, choir singing being an integral part of the curriculum, and instruments are obligatory from the 1st to 8th classes.
ADDITIONAL POSSIBILITIES:
Afternoon supervision for pupils of the Lower School
Pupil meeting-point for help with problems of every kind
SPECIALITIES AND EMPHASES:
Partial course system in 6th, 7th and 8th classes
Foreign languages: possibility of gaining additional certificates
Music: various choirs, string ensemble, swing orchestra, ...
Science laboratory: practical science teaching
Informatics: possibility of gaining the computer driving licence and MOS
Sport: sport theory as optional course, sports courses, participation in competitions
