Artistic intervention
The “Room for artistic interventions” is within the Fine Art Museum.
Artists are regularly commissioned to take over the role of curator and to arrange the room according to their own ideas. To help them the most varied objects from the Monastery depots and collections, which are not necessarily valuable or even intact, have been made available. These can be integrated in installations in combination with the artists’ own works or other media. This room also shows the artist’s reaction to this specific place and its people.
The change of role from artist to exhibition maker, the creative intervention in the traditional museum system of values on the part of the art producers with the attendant visible communication between history and the present offers the possibility of a completely new view of the objects.
