Following a facelift, the St. Benedikt nursing home was reopened in 1996 and has since become one of the most important social institutions in the Ennstal region. By operating this home, we Benedictines of Admont are continuing in the footsteps of our predecessors and maintaining the centuries-old tradition of providing care to those in need.
Care at its best in comfortable surroundings in a familiar environment
Located close to the well-known Frauenberg pilgrimage church, our home can accommodate 36 full-time and respite residents in comfortably furnished double and single rooms, each with its own bath/WC. Since the autumn of 2004, our residents can now also enjoy the generously sized light-filled and fully air-conditioned conservatory that enables them to better experience the outdoor world of our Alpine region.
Qualified nurses and assistants are there to cater to the well-being of residents 24 hours a day. We take a holistic and remobilising approach to healthcare in order to give our residents the opportunity to participate in routine daily activities to the best of their abilities, discover unexpected talents and thus gain new self-confidence and pleasure in life.
We are the only Catholic nursing home in Upper Styria and, as such, we carry out our work in the spirit of Christian charity. We also take care to ensure that the various events and celebrations of the Christian year are reflected in the day-to-day running of the home. The home has its own chapel in which residents can participate in the regular acts of worship or can use for personal meditation.
The comfortable size of our home, our curriculum of entertainment and events – including, for example, an annual excursion for residents, which this year took them to Grundlsee – with regular activity and cultural programmes ensure that life in the home never becomes monotonous.
